It has been a few weeks since the announcement was made that Jamboree in the Hills would be on hiatus for the 2019 season.

Local resident Jim Ghent says he’s still unsure what exactly “hiatus” means and is unsure how to take the news.

“I aint never heard of ‘hiatus’ until this year,” said Ghent. “Obviously it means something’s going on with the festival site.  I just don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.”

Ghent believes it could be bad and worries about the future of the event that draws in thousands each year into Belmont County.
