After inches of snow blanketed the Ohio Valley overnight and into the morning, the Ohio Department of Transportation has an urgent safety message to specific drivers.

According to ODOT officials, they are urging drivers of minivans to sweep off the snow from their vehicles before hitting the roads.

“Our snow plows just can’t keep up with all the snow left behind on the interstate from all the negligent minivan drivers who do not sweep the snow off their vehicles before hitting the roads,” said Jerry Wray, Director of ODOT.

“The snow from your vehicle makes it difficult for other vehicles to navigate the roads,” said Wray.  “Just take 5-10 minutes before your commute and sweep your minivan off.”
